Journal and auto-messages tracking
Journal, diagnostics and captcha
Journal
It lists all important events: messages sent, ignored favorites and the reason. Passes with no new information can be hidden to avoid drowning out what matters. Use the Clear button to start fresh during troubleshooting.
Diagnostics
Shows whether the message is ready to send, whether Vinted is requesting a verification (captcha), and whether the SnapDressing account is properly linked. The most common blocking reasons are listed there to help you understand what is happening. A more detailed mode exists for deeper troubleshooting, but it is not needed day-to-day. You can also check directly in your Vinted inbox: sent messages appear in your conversations as usual.
Safeguards (what the tool checks before sending)
The tool automatically applies several rules before each send. They don't all appear in the settings, but they explain many "ignored" lines in the journal.
Pace
The tool waits a few minutes between each pass to avoid overloading Vinted all at once.
Per buyer (UTC day)
The server counts successful sends and active reservations for the same person on the current UTC day, up to your settings limit. A minimum delay between two messages (often 24 h) may also apply depending on your extension options.
Filters
No send if a conversation already exists with this person, if they have already messaged you, if their average Vinted rating is below your threshold (option in Messages → Buyer) or 0 reviews with this filter active, or if they are on your exclusion list. The journal indicates the reason.
In practice: the tool never sends a message if an existing exchange is found with the person in Vinted messaging, if they have just written to you, or if they appear on an exclusion list. In the Messages tab, the Buyer (Vinted rating) block allows the same type of filter on the average rating (threshold out of 5); with the box checked, profiles with no reviews are also excluded. The journal tells you precisely why a case was ignored.
Slowdowns imposed by Vinted
Vinted limits the speed at which favorite notifications can be read — even manually. If you try to process too many at once, the tool will take automatic pauses (this is normal and necessary). Do not restart the tool during these pauses: you will only delay the resumption. Ramp up gradually.
Example of an advanced option: do not send if the buyer has already sent a message in the conversation.
Where to start (the cautious approach)
- Write a good text in tab 1 → click Save.
- Choose live mode and observe for 30 to 60 minutes.
- Check the journal and the reasons for ignored cases to adjust your settings.
- Switch to history → live mode only if necessary, and start with a short window: 1 to 3 days maximum.
- Enable the offer setting (percentage or euros, or leave "off") only once messages alone behave as you want — and verify the amount remains consistent with the listed price.
Common pitfalls
- Launching with the wrong message tab selected → an unintended text is sent.
- Thinking live mode catches up on yesterday's favorites — it doesn't. For that, you need to enable history mode.
- Increasing volume, the offer setting and the history period all at once without first looking at the ignored cases.
- Editing the wardrobe with the SnapDressing account disconnected → changes are not taken into account.
- Ignoring a captcha and letting the tool run pointlessly during the verification.
Quick FAQ
- Does it work if I close the Vinted tab?
- No: the Vinted page must stay open for the tool to keep monitoring favorites and sending messages.
- I have many failed offers, why?
- Check the details in the panel: listed price vs euro amount deducted, percentage out of bounds, Vinted rules, item already sold, or context blocking the offer even though the message went through.
- The "Message ready" indicator is red?
- The text field is empty or the message has not been saved — go back through the Save button.
- Many ignored cases even though my texts are fine?
- Check whether the Buyer (Vinted rating) filter is enabled in Messages: threshold too high or profiles with 0 reviews (always ignored when the filter is active). Compare with the journal; lower the threshold or disable the filter to test.
- Can I leave it running without ever checking?
- Not recommended: keep a regular eye on the journal, ignored cases and any captchas to make sure everything is going well.
- How do I send an automatic message to favorites on Vinted?
- SnapDressing automatically detects new favorites on your Vinted listings and sends a personalised message on your behalf. Enable Live mode in the extension, write your text and let the tool do the work. No manual action required.
- Are auto-messages allowed by Vinted?
- Vinted does not explicitly prohibit messages to potential buyers — it is common practice among sellers. SnapDressing sends messages in a spaced and natural way to stay within acceptable limits. It is advisable to personalise your messages and not over-solicit buyers.
- What message should I send to sell faster on Vinted?
- A good message is short, personalised and inviting: mention the item in question, optionally suggest a small discount or a bundle, and stay friendly. Example: "Hi! Are you still interested in this item? I can make you an offer 😊". SnapDressing lets you configure up to 3 different texts in rotation.
